K&L Gates opens Dubai office - Pittsburgh Business Times:

Dubai is the firm’x 33rd office and its first in theMiddle K&L Gates Chairman and Global Managing Partner Peter Kalis said the office was “inb the works for about a year” and that the firm’sx entry was “well-timed comparexd with a year ago becausee the costs are reduced and there is much more legal taleng at more reasonable compensation levels available on the K&L Gates expects to grow the Dubai officw principally through hires in that region. “I could see additionao offices in theMiddle East,” said who first visited Dubai six months ago in preparint the firm’s entry there.
“Because of the concentratio n of financial and professional services in theDubai it’s a very attractive and efficient point of entr into the Gulf region. But certainlt it’s not the only markett for legal servicesthat matters. Neal Brendel, one of the firm’ s senior dispute resolution partners, is relocatingb from the Pittsburgh office to serveras co-founder of the Dubai Joining Brendel is Paul de Cordova, who most recentlhy worked with Ashurst, establishing and managing that firm’s Dubak office and helping to open a second office in the Uniterd Arab Emirates. He is a corporate and projectd lawyer with more than 20 years Associate Richard Dollimore also is joining theDubai office.
