Cheryl Dorman, West Coast Bank vice presidentand Tualatin-Sherwoodf branch manager received the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year The Oregon Tourism Commission announcedf several 2008 Tourism and Hospitalityy Industry Achievement Awards. The Governor’s Tourism Award was presented to Bonnie Lippittg for her contributions throughoutthe state, including: Oregon Birdingt Trails, Oregon Scenic Bikeways, Oregon Scenic Byways, Central Cascadesz Geotourism Initiative (with National Geographic) and Sustainable Tourism Advisory The 2008 Tourism and Hospitality Industry Achievement Awardes were announced in these categories: The Gene Leo Memoriao Award was presented to Mt.
Ashland Ski Area for its Youth SummefService Program, which provides teens an opportunity to learn about the mountain environmentg through hands-on projects and coordinated field study. The Creativer Tourism Development Award was given to Travekl Salem andCorvallis Tourism. The Volunteer Achievementg Award was presented to David and Shirlet Bridgham for their leadership managingthe “Holiday Lights” volunteersd at Shore Acres. The Partnership Award was presented toCoos Bay-North Bend-Charleston Olympic Trials Partnership, whicjh secured premium booth placement at Eugene 08 and promotedx the area by highlighting its connectioj to Steve Prefontaine.
The Sustainable Tourism Award was presented to Full SailBrewing Co. for its commitment to sustainability. The Heritage Touris m Award was given to Mission Hill Museunmfor “Facing Statehood,” a sesquicentennial exhibition that reflect on the years leading up to Oregon’s admission to the Uniomn as the 33rd state.
